Training & Education Partners
The One-Stop Career Center offers training programs and workshops to help job seekers upgrade their skills or re-train in an occupation where there is high demand so they can return to the job market. The workshop calendar is published monthly.
In addition, the WIB collaborates with local training centers and post-secondary schools to provide occupational training and education for qualified students. Here is a brief list of our training and education partners:
In today’s rapidly changing job market, it is critical that Bergen County have a workforce system that can respond quickly to the needs of employers and job seekers. But who are the largest employers, and what are their needs? Answer: More than half of the workers in New Jersey are employed in seven key industry sectors and pay more than two-thirds of all wages paid in the state:
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Financial Services
- Health Care
- Life Sciences
- Technology and Entrepreneurship
- Transportation, Logistics, and Distribution
- Leisure, Hospitality and Retail Industry
The Bergen Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development are focused on building partnerships and “Talent Networks” with businesses in these industries and on identifying the skills and training required of prospective employees in these industries. Ultimately, we hope students and job seekers will be able to find long-term jobs in New Jersey and help boost the state’s economy.
